Gawan Vesey (1920-1994)was Branch Librarian of Bushey Library for many years until his retirement in 1985.

He was Chairman of the Friends of Bushey Museum, and very active in the National Trust.

He was also Chairman of Bushey Festival Association until 1992. He remained a valuable member of the committee until his death in December 1994. He was a keen and expert amateur photographer, and used to regale the Annual General Meeting of the Association with a slide show covering the Festival, and sometimes events concerned with some of his other interests.

He was BADFA's vice-chairman, and in 1998 BADFA installed a memorial bench beside footpath 25 with a fine view.
